Types of Groups
Some of the groups that are offered from time to time are listed here. Waiting lists are maintained for groups until enough people are on a list to start. In most cases telephone screening is required prior to attending.
Addiction Recovery & Relapse Prevention (open ended) Focuses on helping recovering addicts of all kinds (substances, sex, computer, gambling, etc) to recover and avoid relapse. Participants are taught how to recognize when they are entering an addiction cycle and how to intervene prior to relapse.
Depression Recovery Group (6 Weeks) The dynamics of depression and techniques of recovery are presented.
Good Grief Group (6 Weeks) A group for anyone suffering from a unresolved loss. Grieving facilitates the healing process but becoming stuck in grief hinders healing. Conscious grieving is taught and practiced.
Self-Esteem & Assertiveness (6 Weeks) Techniques to build self-esteem and become increasingly assertive are taught and practiced.
Co-Dependency Interaction Group (open) Focuses on healing relationship issues. It provides a safe place for members to gain insight and to make changes they choose in themselves, and in how they relate to others.
Couple’s Communication (Couples only - 8 Weeks) Healthy relationships are possible when couples learn how to handle conflict and to communicate their needs in such a way that their partner wants to meet them. Healing & Personal growth flow naturally from the process. Homework (written or communication exercises) is given weekly.
Building Healthy Relationships for Singles (8 Weeks) Focus is on learning how to attract and build a healthy significant relationship through self change and safe communication techniques that promote individual healing. Homework is given weekly.
Divorce & Separation (open) It is easy to become stuck in confusion and anger when a significant relationship ends. This group focuses on support and healing.
Inner-Child Healing (8 Weeks) Techniques and exercises designed to heal the childhood hurts we carry from childhood. Without healing these it is unlikely that we can have satisfying adult relationships and good self-esteem.
Internet & Computer Addiction (6 Weeks) Learn how to control your time on the computer or on the internet without having to give them up all together.
Love Addiction (6 Weeks) Learn about the three major forms of love addiction (relationship, romance, and sex) and how to engender recovery.
Partners of Sex Addicts (8 Weeks) Focus is on how to create a healthy, loving, intimate relationship with a partner who is a recovering sex addict. The dynamics of recovery from addiction and co-dependency will be explored.
Men’s (8 Weeks) Focuses on healing male specific issues and building bridges to other men.
Personal Growth Group (open) A mixed gender therapy group focused on personal and relationship issues of all kinds.
Personal Adjustment to Disabilities (6 Weeks) Focused on helping people who have acquired disabilities make adjustments to the changes caused by becoming disabled and subsequent limitations. Depression, isolation, and self-esteem issues (among others) are explored
Prosperity (6 Weeks) Learn and practice the spiritual principles for having more prosperity in your life. This class will include Group Prosperity affirmation and prayer.
Partner’s of Recovering Addicts (8 Weeks) Focus is on how to create a healthy, loving, intimate relationship with a partner who is a recovering addict (from any addiction). The dynamics of recovery from addiction and co-dependency will be explored.
Partners of Sex Addict’s Group Focus is on how to create a healthy, loving, intimate relationship with a partner who is a sex addict. The dynamics of the addiction and of co-dependency will be explored.
Road Less Traveled Study Group (8 Weeks) A group using the workbook to accompany the study of The Road Less Traveled by Scott Peck, MD. An active, experiential group with weekly homework.
Sex Addiction Education (10 Weeks) Understand the dynamics of sexual addiction and specific interventions that are part of a program of recovery.
Sex Addiction Recovery (open) Focus is on dealing with sexual desire and behavior which is out of control. Tools for creating true intimacy are taught to participants. |
